Special Rules For Fall Ball:
Incl Restrictions On Bats & Limits On Number & Use
Of Over-Aged Players

Fall Bat Rules:

Fall teams follow the summer bat rules at one year less than their Fall team age. For example, the bat rules applicable to spring/summer 13u teams also apply to Fall 14u teams.

NOTE: ENYTB is a wood bat league at the older age levels:

Spring/Summer: 15U and older = Wood Bat.
Fall: 16U and older = Wood Bat

Over-Aged Player Limits:

All teams, regardless of age or competition level shall be allowed a maximum of 4 over-aged players for the Fall season.

DEFINITION: An over-aged player is any player whose baseball age is one year greater than his team's primary age e.g., a 15yo playing on a 14+ team.

NOTE: The above limits are the same as those applicable to the ENYTB spring/summer season.

Fall Pitching Restrictions For Over-aged Players:

By definition: a 10U summer team is comprised:

(A) of players who have not reached their 11th birthday by APR 30 of the current calendar year; and,
(B) up to a maximum of 4 over-aged players i.e., players who have not reached their 12th birthday by APR 30 of the current calendar year.

This same team would qualify as an 11U fall team. Thus, in effect, we add one year to each player's baseball age from the summer season. So the 10s are now viewed as 11s and the 11s (over-aged summer players) are viewed as 12s. In fact, a player's age as stated on an ENYTB fall roster already includes this age adjustment.

EXAMPLE: An 11U fall team is comprised of players who were/are 10 or 11 year olds based on the APR 30 summer age cutoff. The 11 yo players were counted as over-aged players on the summer 10u team and they are counted as over-aged players on the fall 11U team as well.

NOTE: Summer baseball age 12 year-olds are NOT eligible to play as over-aged players on an 11U fall team unless the team is labeled 11++.

Given this understanding of the change in a player's age between between his summer and fall teams, the restrictions on the use of over-aged players to pitch in an ENYTB fall game have been revised as follows effective immediately:

1 - Over-aged players on 10U fall teams (summer 10s) can pitch against any fall team 9+ or older;

2 - Over-aged players on 11U fall teams (summer 11s) can pitch against any fall team 11U or older (these teams don't play teams 10u or younger);

3 - Over-aged players on 12U fall teams (summer 12s) can pitch against any fall team 11+ or older;

4 - Over-aged players on 13U fall teams (summer 13s) can pitch against any fall team 13U or older (these teams don't play teams 12u or younger);

5 - Over-aged players on 14U fall teams (summer 14s) can pitch against any Fall team 13+ or older;

6 - Over-aged players on 15U fall teams (summer 15s) can pitch against any fall team 14+ or older;

7 - Over-aged players on 16U fall teams (summer 16s) can pitch against any fall team 15+ or older; and,

8 - Over-aged players on 17U fall teams (summer 17s) can pitch against any fall team 16+ or older.

This revision is consistent with the pitching restrictions on over-aged players that ENYTB used in the LMS tournament this summer and the restrictions that will be applicable to the ENYTB spring/summer season going forward.
