Roster Management 101: The Basics

Basics:

Roster minimum = 11 players
Roster maximum = 18 players (21 player max ages 17U and older)

Roster minimum must be met before season starts
Rosters stay open all year for additions/subtraction

Deadline for taking an ACTIVE player from another club is March 1st for 9U-12U teams. Deadline is April 1st for 13U & older.

Players baseball age is defined as their age on April 30th of the current year.
Teams are allowed to carry a maximum of 4 overaged players (players that are 1 year older than their teams age division. For more info on rules governing over-aged players: READ HERE


Building/Maintaining your Roster:

Step 1:

When a team is activated for a new season, you gain access to your roster by logging into ENYTB.com > My Team > My Roster.

- If you are a new team to the league, it will be blank.
- If you are a returning team to the league, it will have all the players that were on your roster last year.

(NOTE: When you activate for a summer season, you will see your SUMMER roster from last year. Not your fall ball roster. The database houses SUMMER teams and FALL teams separately. You may think a player is already on your roster because you added him in the fall. This is false, you must add him again to your summer roster).


Step 2 (Returning Teams only):

To be done in January/February

You must update the status of all the players on your roster.

- ACTIVE: If the player is coming back for this season, leave them as ACTIVE.

- DID NOT REPORT: If the player chose on their own not to come back to your team this season, mark them as DID NOT REPORT

- CUT LIST: If you chose not to offer the player a roster spot for any reason, you must mark them as CUT LIST

- INTRA-CLUB TRANSFER: Only Club GMs have access to this function. If you are moving a player from one team in your club to a different team, mark them as INTRA-CLUB TRANSFER.

- INELIGIBLE LIST: Rarely used. If a player owes the club money or equipment and is no longer playing for your club, mark them as INELIGIBLE LIST. The player will have to settle any debts before they will be allowed to play for another ENYTB team.

- INJURED RESERVE LIST: If a player is injured for the season and you need to create an open roster spot for a replacement player, place the injured player on INJURED RESERVE LIST.

After updating the drop down list for each player, click "SAVE STATUS" the orange button at bottom of your roster. (Sometimes this hides to the bottom right)


Step 3: Add New Players

*WAIT UNTIL FEB 1ST TO DO THIS*

On Feb 1st, non-returning teams will be marked as "dead" and it will minimize the amount of RFA credits you must use to acquire players from other teams in the league.

There is an orange button on the bottom of your roster to "ADD PLAYER", click that to add a player.

*DO NOT CREATE DUPLICATE PLAYER RECORDS*

Search for a player by keying in the first few letters of their last name.

If you find a match, link the player. (Most players in the Capital District will be in the database by their 14 year old year.)

If the player is brand new to ENYTB, you will have to enter the required personal info, then link the player, then upload proof of DOB.

  • How Do League Participants Retrieve Their Own Password?

    Lost Password?

    enytb.com allows users to retrieve their own password at any time.

    To retrieve your own password:

    Go to the very top of the home page and click on the [Login] button. In the spawned modal, click [Lost Password?]

    Enter your ENYTB registered email address;

    Click the applicable user ID (if there is more than one).

    The system will instantly email your password to your registered email address.

    NOTE: If you get a message stating that you aren't a registered user, the system is telling you that it does not recognize the email address you have entered i.e., it is not of a valid email address/password pairing. This would happen if you have multiple email address and are entering a different email address from what you are registered under in the system. It could also mean you have typed in your email address incorrectly or that it was originally entered incorrectly to the system. If you believe it to be the latter, please contact your league navigator for assistance. If you don't know who your league navigator is, contact Ed Frye at 518-356-9089.

Custom Scheduling

ENYTB puts you in the driver’s seat in determining when and how much you team plays as well as who you play.
  • Have your schedule include the exact number of games you want week-by-week as well as in total;
  • Have your HOME games scheduled only on the dates/times your home field and team are both available;
  • Have your AWAY games scheduled only on the dates/times your team is available;
  • Automatically eliminate opponents outside your team’s competitive range; and,
  • Top priority given to scheduling games with specific opponents that you designate as most preferred. You can also block specific opponents you prefer not playing.

Schedule Reliability

Schedule reliability is the hallmark of every great league!
  • Teams are required to play all games as scheduled;
  • 100% enforcement via ENYTB website;
  • More than 90% of all ENYTB scheduled games are played as scheduled, excluding cancellations due to bad weather;
  • Games that aren’t played as scheduled (forfeits) can be made up at a later time by mutual agreement to avoid fine;
  • Fines are imposed for un-played or un-scored games;
  • ENYTB guarantees reimbursement for unavoidable out-of-pocket game expenses due to late cancellations.

Tournament Opportunities

Multiple tournaments for all ages!
  • Local tournaments hosted on premium fields, including Joe Bruno Stadium, home to the Tri-City ValleyCats, minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros.
  • Exclusive local tournaments for Members Only: Super 8, Summer Blast, Madness!, and ValleyCats Fall Classic. Each with a 2 game guarantee. Sign up available on team order form.
  • OPEN tournament: Last Man Standing. 3 game guarantee. Last weekend of July. All teams in the Capital District and beyond are welcome to join in this summer finale! Members sign up on team order form. Non-members sign up on-line through tournament menu.
  • Sanctioned National Championship Tournament Series are available to members at all ages via ENYTB affiliates: NABF; PONY; and, AABC. Sign-up available on team order form.

  • New members are always welcome - ENYTB continues to grow, having reached 225 teams in 2019
  • New teams are allowed to roster up to four players one year older than their team age (pre-2019 teams are grandfathered at five such players); and,
  • New teams are allowed a maximum of four players from active ENYTB teams, provided no more than three of those players are from the same team.
