It was very gratifying to recently receive this award from AABC(inscription below). AABC was our league's first affiliation and remains our largest. I share this award with my fellow Board Members as well as our many dedicated members, who have worked hard to provide a quality baseball experience for their players.Ed Frye, President ~ ENYTB Upper ...

AABC has enacted three new rules that all members should be aware of. These rules apply to AABC sanctioned tournaments only.(1) The -3 restriction on bat length-weight differentials has been rescinded for the Sandy Koufax Division at both Koufax 13 and Koufax 14.I think this is a good idea at 13U and is OK at 14U on 90' diamonds but AABC plays its ...

NABF has announced that its highly prestigious High School Division (17U) World Series will be hosted in Greensboro, North Carolina this year. For the last 10 years this tournament has been played in Millington, TN. Last year Double Play Baseball represented the ENYTB at this tournament. Some of the playing sites set aside for this event include:Stoner/White StadiumGilford College StadiumMemorial Stadium (the old Bull Durham Baseball Stadium!)along with several other top playing facilities in the Greater Greensboro area. Some of the best high school talent in the world will be assembled for this tournament. Many of the major colleges surrounding the Greensboro area have a keen interest in the upcoming NABF event, including: Duke UniversityWake ForestUniversity of North CarolinaGreensboro CollegeWingate CollegeHigh Point universityCatawa CollegeGuilford CollegeGreensboro is accessible by the I-85 and I-40 highway systems and the Piedmont Triad International Airport. Having visited the Greensboro area this fall I can attest to both its accessibility and beauty. The host organization, Greensboro Baseball, Inc. will make arrangements for rental of 15 passenger vans and hotel accomodations at the Ramada Inn and Clarion Hotel. In addition, the host organization will make tee time arrangements for coaches, parents, and fans at some of the more than 30 local golf courses. After all, Greensboro is home to the Greater Greensboro Open on the PGA Tour. The tournament field will include 32 or more teams. Teams will be scheduled to play by a blind draw utilizing the NABF Modified Round Robin Format. Additional information will be available in the High School Division World Series packet.NABF encourages leagues to register for these tournament berths as early as possible to assure a berth in the 2005 tournament. For this tournament, ENYTB offers berths to its teams by direct buy-in only. The team pays the full berth fee and is guaranteed the berth from day one. (See either Sanctioned Tournaments (to your right) or your team registration page (Team Home) for more information on cost etc.) As we do with so many things, these berths are awarded to teams on a first come first served basis (we play no favorites). Although these berths are limited, if teams act quickly, it is possible for the league to obtain more than one. While this tournament is arguably the jewel of ENYTB's sanctioned tournament offerings, it requires great commitment, planning and resources.SPECIAL RULE - DOB To Determine Age is NOT AUG 1While the tournament says 17U, the birth date used is Jan 1 of the current year. Any player 17 years old on the first day of 2005 is eligible. In addition, teams may use 18 year old players during regular season play and still qualify for this tournament provided have at least 11 of the players on the roster are age eligible i.e., "17U".
It has been League practice in years past for the home team to pay the umps and provided the baseballs, except at 12U where both teams split. The old policy made it important that teams played an evenly divided home and away schedule, especially if they had no concessions. With the growth of the League and the increased utilization of many baseball...
