Quick Guide re: the Schedule Management Protocol for
Rescheduling Games Postponed Due to Bad Weather.
]Each team is required to manage its own online schedule throughout the season i.e., the game status of each scheduled game must be made current within 7 days of the scheduled date of the game. Other than scoring a game (including suspended games) no team shall attempt to change the status of ANY scheduled game via the website until it has discussed the change with its opponent and where agreement is required, has obtained it.This protocol will allow you to reschedule a game that was postponed due to bad weather within the last 7 days.
NOTE: Make-up games require prior agreement between the parties before they can be rescheduled on the website.
Rules re: Make-Ups Of Weather Postponed Games
(i) 7-DAY Time Limit For Entering A Make-Up Game To The Website
Teams shall be required to update their online schedule for the make-up of a postponed game within 7 calendar days of when the game was previously scheduled to be played and preferably as soon as possible.
NOTE: Once teams have reached agreement on a make-up, either team may enter the reschedule information to the website.
When a weather postponed game is rescheduled, the website shall automatically update the status of the game on both team schedules and auto-generate an email alert to all managers/coaches, club reps and league reps for teams A/B as well as league Schedule agent and President, notifying them of the change in game status and the details thereto.
(ii) 7-Day Time Limit For entering a NO-FAULT IMPASSE
At any time during the allowable reschedule period, after normal effort to reschedule a weather postponed game with an opponent has proven to be or threatens to be unsuccessful, regardless of reason, either team may declare an IMPASSE. This declaration shall preserve both team's right to have the game played and to count by forcing a league intervention. In other words, once a weather postponed game has been declared an IMPASSE, it is exempted from the PASSED game penalty.
When an impasse is declared, the website shall auto-generate an email alert to all managers/coaches, club reps and league reps for teams A/B as well as league Schedule agent and President, notifying them that an impasse has been declared and that the league shall be in contact with both teams within 72 hours to resolve the impasse and reschedule the game.
(iii) PASSED GAMES
After 7 calendar days (or the final day of the season, whichever comes first), the status of any game that has been neither scored, forfeited, suspended, rescheduled nor declared an IMPASSE, shall be automatically reclassified as a PASSED game. The website shall make the determination of a passed game automatically based on the passage of time.
NOTE: 48 hours before a game is eligible to be passed, the website will auto-generate an email alert to all managers/coaches, club reps and league reps for teams A/B as well as league Schedule agent and President, warning/notifying them of the pending change in game status.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The PASSED game rule is used to prevent teams from accumulating un-played games throughout the season and then "cashing them in" as forfeit wins at season's end.
All fines collected by the league for PASSED games, Non-Playing Forfeits etc. are held in a separate account and shared among teams from the same age division advancing in non-local sanctioned tournament play.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Once a game is PASSED, it shall be marked on both team schedules as PASSED. This means no score can be entered for that game and no subsequent reschedule can be effected. All passed games shall become final and cannot be challenged.
NOTE: This means that even if a game was played, it doesn’t count as played unless it is scored on the website by either of the two teams within 7 days of the scheduled date of the game.
Each team is fined $50 per PASSED game. Both teams are fined because both are at equal fault for not keeping their schedule current within 7 days of the scheduled date of the game.
NOTE: Doubleheaders that are PASSED count as two PASSED games.
PASSED games do not affect a team’s won/loss record nor any eligibility it may have for sanctioned post-season play.
